College of Charleston Men's Golf 10th at Rees Jones
Daufuskie Island, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team shot a 306 in the third round to finsh 10th at the Rees Jones Invitational held Oct. 5-6 at Haig Point in Daufuskie Island, S.C. South Carolina fired an 869 in 54 holes to win the tournament by seven strokes over UNC Wilmington. The Cougars finished with a 930.
South Carolina's Paul Woodbury beat fellow teammate George Bryan in the second hole of a play-off to take individual medalist honors wit ha 214.
Michael Montgomery (Hilton Head, S.C.) led the Cougars after finishing tied for 21st with a 229. Coy Breen (San Antonio, Texas) followed closely behind, tying for 28th with a 232. John Hudson (Sonora, Texas) tied for 37th wit ha 236 and 45th was Seth Stuart (Austin, Texas) with a 239. Harrison Moore (Orangeburg, S.C.) rounded out the Cougar effort with a 245 for a tie at 55th.
Charleston next competes at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate Nov. 2-3 at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Sapphire, N.C.

UNCG shoots 296 in final round at Squire Creek to move up to 15th
CHOUDRANT, La. ? UNC Greensboro improved by 10 shots on its two rounds from yesterday with a final round 296, moving up to 15t h at the Louisiana Tech / Squire Creek Classic.
Sophomore Colin Chapman carded an even-par 72 for the team’s low round of the day. Freshman Robert Hoadley, who shot a 72 in Monday’s second round, finished off the tournament with a 73 in Tuesday’s final round. UNCG finished with a team score of 908 in the tournament.
Southeastern Louisiana’s Cedric Scotto held on to win the individual title by one shot over the New Orleans duo of Ken Looper and Sebastian Szirmak. Scotto shot a 72 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at six-under par 210.
Looper and Szirmak were good enough, however, to lead New Orleans to the team title. The Privateers’ score of 854 was nine shots better than Southeastern Louisiana, which finished second.
UNCG returns to action on October 19 at the Georgetown Intercollegiate in Beallsville, Md.
