SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? UNC Greensboro sophomore Drew Younts has been named Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for April 16.

Younts finished tied for fifth this week at the Palisades Collegiate Championship in Charlotte, N.C. He carded rounds of 72, 70 and 71 to finish at three-under 213 and was UNCG's top golfer as the Spartans finished tied for seventh. His total of 213 was a career-low, while his round of 70 was a season-low. Younts earned his first Top 5 and Top 10 finish of the season. His last Top 5 came when he closed out last season by winning the Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville, Va. -- when he carded his previous 54-hole best of 214.

Younts is the second UNCG golfer in as many weeks to earn this honor after Nathan Stamey claimed the award a week ago.

Other top performances were turned in by Davidson’s Christopher Rollins and Western Carolina’s Matt Cook.
