SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Elon senior Jimmy Lytle tied a 23-year old tournament record last week and has been named Southern Conference men’s golfer of the week for March 5.

The Ocean Ridge, Fla., native fired an opening-round 67 at the Lonnie D. Small Classic in Buies Creek, N.C., equaling the lowest single round score in the 23-year history of the event. This is Lytle’s second consecutive golfer of the week award.
