SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Georgia Southern golfer Logan Blondell has been named Southern Conference men’s golfer of the week for March 19.
Blondell, a freshman from Lakeland, Fla., paced Georgia Southern with a six-under par total of 210 as the Eagles rallied to a fifth place finish at the 29th Annual Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. Blondell fired the lowest score of the final day, a four-under par 68, in a field that included 12 of the top 50 ranked schools in the nation. The freshman finished in third place overall while carding the Eagles’ best individual score at the annual event since 1989.
Also turning in standout performances this week were Chattanooga’s J.T. Clendenin, UNC Greensboro’s Will Bowman and Wofford’s Drew Perry.
