SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Chattanooga junior golfer Jonathan Hodge has been named Southern Conference men’s golfer of the week for March 12.
Hodge, ranked 61st nationally in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, claimed medalist honors with a two-over par total of 212 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C. this week. The Jefferson City, Tenn., native fired a low round of 67 as the 17th-ranked Mocs finished 30 strokes better than the nearest competition. UTC bettered No. 30 Virginia Tech by 30 strokes and No. 22 Penn State by 40.
Also turning in standout performances this week were Appalachian State’s Jake Wheeler and College of Charleston’s Soonam Kim.
