Alpharetta, Ga. ? Chattanooga carded a 299 to end the first round of the NCAA East Regional in a tie for 11th place on Thursday afternoon at the par-72 Golf Club of Georgia, Lakeside Course.
The Southern Conference Player of the Year, Jonathan Hodge, paced the Mocs with a one-under par, 71 to finish tied for eighth. Teammate Fredrik Qvicker turned in a 73 to end the day in a tie for 23rd to round out the leaders for Chattanooga.
Western Carolina’s Matt Cook also turned in a one-over par, 73. Cook was one of 18 individuals nationally to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Championships.
Second round action continues Friday morning with Chattanooga teeing off at 8:35 a.m. Western Carolina’s Matt Cook is scheduled for an 8:53 tee time.
