SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Chattanooga’s Jonathan Hodge has been named the Men’s Golfer of the Week for the week of March 7.
Hodge, a sophomore from Jefferson City, Tenn., led the Mocs to two team titles at the Rio Pinar tournament and the Wexford Invitational. Hodge was a total of 2-over par in his six rounds in the two events for a stroke average of 72.3. He shot a second-round 68 and followed with an even par final round to earn third place at the Rio Pinar tournament and to lead the Mocs to first place in a field that included teams ranked in the Top 20.
Hodge was 5-over at the Wexford Invitational for his second straight third place finish. The Mocs also claimed the team title, the second time in school history that Chattanooga has won back-to-back tournaments.
Other top performers include Elon’s Justin Newton, Georgia Southern’s Bryan Jones, Western Carolina’s Matt Cook and Wofford’s Garrett Medeiros.
