HOLLYWOOD, SC ? Western Carolina’s Matt Cook (70-72) ended the second day of the 2006 Southern Conference Men’s Golf Championship at the par 72 The Links at Stono Ferry as the only golfer among the 50-person field to conclude the day below par. Cook’s two-under par two-day total of 142 bests a throng of five golfers tied for second place at 144.
Georgia Southern’s Drew Bowen is among those two strokes behind Cook, improving on his first round output of 76 by eight strokes to finish with the low round of the day at four-under 68.
