The Southern Conference named Wofford’s Neil O’Briain its Men’s Golfer of the Week and Furman’s Blair Lamb its Women’s Golfer of the Week for the week ending March 14.

A freshman, O’Briain acquired his first individual collegiate tournament crown with a three-under par 213 at the Birkdale Collegiate Classic in Huntersville, NC. The Dublin, Ireland native was the lone golfer in the event under par after the first two rounds and shot even par in the third and final round to garner the victory by two strokes.

O’Briain is the first freshman in Wofford history to tally medalist honors in a tournament.

Lamb posted a three-round total of 218 (75-70-73) to conclude the Lady Gamecock Classic at the University Club in Blythewood, SC, in a tie for third place overall.

A freshman from Flat Rock, NC, Lamb’s third-place finish and two-over par total were career-bests.
