The Southern Conference today named UNC Greensboro’s J.D. Bass its Men’s Golfer of the Week for the week ending February 22.

Bass, a junior, commenced the spring season by finishing eighth overall at the sixth annual Rice Intercollegiate at Willowisp Country Club in Missouri City, TX. Bass fired a final round 71 to end the tournament with a three-round total of 220.

The Fairview, NC, native is second on the Spartans’ squad this year with a 74.22 stroke average. The 2004-05 second team All-SoCon selection has one top 10 and another top 20 performance to his credit in the 2005-06 campaign.
