The Eagles, who began the final round in third place, finished the tournament at seven-over par (859) and nine stokes behind second place Alabama (-2/850). The University of Tennessee won the tournament, shooting a tournament record 34-under par 818.

Seniors Drew Bowen and Jonathan Shaw both tied for 30th posting a three round total 217 (+4). In his first collegiate tournament, freshman Jordan Johnstun carded a final round 74 (+2) to finish in a tie for 50th at eight-over par (221). Junior Toshi Hirata finished in a tie for 71st with a 15-over par (228) total. Sophomore Chris Smith tied for 44th with a seven-over (220) total in individual competition.

“We struggled today,” head coach Larry Mays said. “We put ourselves in position to post a top three finish and we weren’t able to capitalize. The final four holes are good birdie opportunities that we let slip away. We just had too many mistakes that can’t happen against a strong field like this. Now we will focus on heading to Minnesota and playing well there.”

Tennessee’s Lloyd Campbell and Philip Pettitt finished as low medalists, each shooting a tournament record 12-under par (201).

The College of Charleston men's golf team finished tied for 11th place after shooting a three-round total of 872

The Cougars shot an opening round 294 and a 283 in the second round, while firing a 295 in the third round.

Nick Hughey led the Cougars, finishing tied for 22nd after firing a third-round total of 68. Tucker Ervin finished tied for 30th, while Kellen Altman rounded out the Charleston top three with a tie for 36th.
