Terriers set to host Wofford Invitational

For the 17th year, the Terrier men's golf program will host the annual Wofford Invitational Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.

The par-72, 6,843-yard event will feature eight schools playing 54 holes beginning with the first round Friday at 9:15 a.m. in a shotgun start. The second round will be Friday at approximately 1:30 p.m. before competition concludes Saturday with the final round slated for 8:30 a.m.

The eight institutions comprising this year's field include host Wofford, along with Belmont, Davidson, Elon, Furman, Old Dominion, UNC Greensboro and Winthrop.

"What makes this year especially unique is any team that is playing its best can win the tournament," said Terrier head coach Dan O'Connell. "It is a very balanced field throughout.

"As far as our team, we have played some of our best golf of the year in the last four rounds. Let's hope it continues this weekend."

Wofford will be represented on the links by seniors Van Burgess, J.P. Chamberlin and Jon Stephenson along with junior Daniel Sloan and sophomore Adam Dox.
