SoCon Names Men's Golfers of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC - The Southern Conference today named UNC Greensboro's Andy
Bare and Wofford's Daniel Sloan as its first Men's Golfers of the Week of
the 2004 season.

Bare and Sloan were tied for first place after 54 holes at the Birkdale
Collegiate Classic, but Bare triumphed to claim the individual medalist
honors.

Bare, a senior from West End, NC, shot a three-round 222 to win at the
Birkdale, including a low round of 71. Bare, who has the ninth best scoring
average in the SoCon this season, helped the Spartans to a third place team
finish.

Sloan, a junior from Greenville, SC, turned in a career-best finish with a
three-way tie for first place at the Birkdale Collegiate Classic. For
Sloan, this was his fourth top 10 finish in his career with the Terriers.
