GREENVILLE, N.C.---Golfer Matt Brock tied for ninth place Tuesday with a
four-over-par 220 at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate hosted by East
Carolina University. Brock earned his third consecutive top-10 finish. He
placed third at the Blue Demon Invitational at the end of last month and
was fifth at last week's Sonic/Chattanooga Intercollegiate.
The Mocs tied for ninth as a team with a team total of 901 as Andy Burris
was forced to withdraw in Tuesday's final round at the Bradford Creek Golf
Club. The Mocs carded rounds of 296, 292 and 313.
Host East Carolina took the team title with an 882 at the par-72
course. The Pirates finished two strokes ahead of second-place Elon and 10
ahead of third-place Florida Atlantic.
ECU's Ryan Leveque was one of only two golfers to finish under
par. Leveque turned in a three-under 213, edging Elon's James Hockman by
one stroke. Leveque was playing as an individual, and Hockman, who had a
five-over 77 in the final round, was the leader after the second round.
The Mocs return to competition Oct. 27-28 at the ODU/Seascape Invitational
hosted by Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.

KNOXVILLE, TENN.- Junior Aron Price fired a final round 68 to win the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions at Holston Hills Country Club for his third tournament title in four chances this season. As a team, Georgia Southern placed fourth.
Price, ranked sixth in the nation by Golfweek, scored a 203 (69-66-68) to finish at -13, two strokes ahead of Virginia's Jermey Luce.
Freshman Bryan Jones finished tied for 11th with a three-round total of 213, while 18th-ranked Toshi Hirata posted a 222. Jon David Kennedy added a 224 and Chase Jones scored a 226.
Georgia Southern's total of 858 (-6) placed the Eagles fourth behind team champion Vanderbilt, the Swedish National Team and Tennessee.
Georgia Southern concludes its fall season next week, playing in the Country Club of Louisiana Classic in Baton Rouge.
