Southern Conference Teams Complete Day One at NCAA Men's Golf Championship

DURHAM, NC -

ETSU finished the first day 13 shots behind the leader but only four off Georgia Tech and within one of Augusta State (292) and University of Toledo (292). Chris Wisler carded a 71, one-under par, and finished the day tied for ninth. James Johnson shot a one-over par 73, tied for 31st, while Thomas Lee finished the round tied for 45th with a 74.

College of Charleston tied with Clemson, Wake Forest, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech for sixth after day one. The Cougars were led by Bruce McDonald who carded an even 72 and tied for 20th. Jedd McLuen finished tied for 31st (73) and Josh Goldstein recorded a two-over 74 on the day.

GSU's Tyler McKeever and Travis Mobley led the Eagles with a pair of 75's, tied for 66th. Warren Holman (76) and Justin Kolumber (76) round out the top three for Georgia Southern.

Furman's Kirk Satterfield, who is competing as an individual at the championships, shot a 76 (+4).
