The Bulldogs will travel to Greenville, North Carolina, to face the Pirates, who finished the season with a 20-10 overall and 11-8 American Conference. This will be the third time both teams have played each other, with East Carolina holding a 3-0 record. This is the first time in program history that The Citadel has been selected to play in the NIVC.

"Playing in the NIVC is another program first we are excited about. We didn't accomplish our mission of a SoCon tournament championship, and that left a bad taste in our mouths," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "This team will head into this tournament looking to prove something after how we performed last week. I'm excited to see how we prepare this week and how we choose to respond."

About the NIVC
The tournament is a single-elimination event with all games played at sites of host schools. The NIVC is committed to offering deserved opportunities to women's Volleyball programs, and the Postseason NIVC featured a full 32-team bracket in 2019, 2021, and 2022.  The tournament was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19. The NIVC offers teams an opportunity to get in more practices, to experience playoff-atmosphere games, to play in front of passionate fans, and use their NIVC success as a springboard to the next season.
