ETSU’s Alessandra Caceres named SoCon player of the week
Sophomore went 4-0 this week at the No. 1 position

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Alessandra Caceres has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Feb. 4-10, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award is selected by the league office.
Caceres, who was honored on Jan. 28, played a key role in both victories for the Bucs this week. On Feb. 5, in a 4-3 win against Appalachian State, Caceres and Daniela Rivera paired up at the No. 1 position to defeat Savannah DadaMascoll and Isabela Romanichen, 6-3. In singles, at court three, Caceres got the scoring started for the Bucs in a straight set victory over Olwyn Ryan-Bovey, 6-4, 6-4.
On Feb. 8 against Lipscomb, Caceres and Rivera again teamed up and beat Sofia Paladi and Serafima Bobrovnikova 6-2. In singles, the Calama, Chile, product again scored the first point of the match for the Bucs defeating Rut Galindo 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 position.
ETSU (3-2) will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for a tournament where they will face Alabama on Friday, Feb. 14, and Minnesota on Saturday, Feb. 15
