SoCon Announces Selections for 2024 ITA Conference Masters Tournament

Selections were made by league coaches

SPARTANBURG, S.C.– The Southern Conference announced the selection for the Men’s and Women’s ITA Conference Masters Tournament on Friday. Coaches selected a singles and doubles team representative and an alternate for the tournament that starts Nov. 7 in Rome, Ga.

The tournament features one singles player and one doubles pair from each of the 32 NCAA DI Conferences. The four semifinalists of the singles draw will qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas later this fall.

Coaches selected Daniela Rivera of ETSU as the women’s singles representative. The Maturin, Venezuela, native finished the 2024 spring season with a 26-9 record and was named SoCon Athlete of the Year. The senior went 8-3 in fall play. Rivera and Alessandra Caceres were picked as the doubles team representatives after a 19-7 record in the spring and a 5-2 record this fall.


The singles alternate will be Jade Groen of Western Carolina while the doubles secondary will be Ellie Schulson and Macy Hitchcock from Furman.


On the men’s side, coaches selected Mercer’s Nemanja Stefanovic for singles after a 11-16 spring and 5-4 fall record. The Oakville, Ontario, Canada, product was named to the All-Freshman team in 2024. For doubles, ETSU’s Francisco Lamas and Martin Garcia Ripoll were selected to represent the conference after a 6-1 fall record.

Darcy Nicholls of Samford will be the singles alternate while Prince Gandonou and Isak Padio of Mercer will act as the doubles alternates.
