Chattanooga’s Savannah Presson named SoCon player of the week
Sophomore goes 4-0 for the Mocs
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Savannah Presson has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Feb. 17-23, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award is selected by the league office.
Presson went a perfect 4-0 for Chattanooga across singles and doubles as the Mocs grabbed wins at Southern and Southeastern Louisiana. In a 6-1 win over Southern on Feb. 20, the sophomore topped Kai Wince, 7-5, 6-1, in singles and combined with Emma Pedretti for a 6-2 win in doubles. The next day, the product of Knoxville, Tennessee, got a 6-4, 6-1, win in singles against Mariam Makashvili, and teamed up with Pedretti for a 7-6 tiebreak victory in doubles, as the Mocs won, 5-2.
Chattanooga plays at Belmont on Feb. 27, before returning home to face Bellarmine on March 1.
