Chattanooga’s Addison Iacono named SoCon player of the week
Freshman leads the Mocs to a pair of wins
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Addison Iacono has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Feb. 3-9, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award is selected by the league office.
Iacono was 3-0 last week for Chattanooga, helping the Mocs to wins over Eastern Michigan and EKU. On Feb. 6 in the team’s 4-0 win against Eastern Michigan, the product of Pittsboro, North Carolina, posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Zuleyka Hukmasabiyy in flight No. 1. The next day, the freshman won 6-2, 6-3 in singles, and teamed up with Rufaro Magarira for a 6-2 victory in doubles, both in the No. 1 spot, in Chattanooga’s 6-1 win at EKU.
Chattanooga hosts Tennessee State on Feb. 15.
