VMI’s Patrick Jordon named SoCon wrestler of the week
Opened the 2024-25 campaign with five victories
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- VMI’s Patrick Jordon has been selected as the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 5.
Jordon, a native of Providence Forge, Viriginia, began his 2024-25 season going 5-0 at the Southeast Open, in Roanoke, Virginia, the season opening tournament for the Keydets. The sophomore earned a first-place mark on the mat in his weight class.
En route to the championship round, Jordon, who wrestles at 149, won two rounds by decision, a third-round pin, and was the victor over one Power 5 opponent via technical fall.
In the championship, Jordon won with a pin at the 2:56 mark, sealing first place.
VMI placed five additional wrestlers in the top 10 in the 133, 141, 184, and 197 weight classes.
The Keydets return to the mat on Nov. 9 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Journeymen Wranglemania Duals.
