Campbell’s Taye Ghadiali named SoCon wrestler of the week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Campbell’s Taye Ghadiali has been selected as the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Nov. 13 – 19.  

It was announced on Nov. 6, that the defending SoCon Champion in the 285-weight class was selected to participate at the 2024 NWCA All-Star Classic on Nov. 16. The selection made Ghadiali the second Campbell wrestler to participate in the event.  

Ghadiali, who is ranked seventh in Intermat’s current rankings, defeated a familiar foe in Ohio State’s Nick Feldman by decision. 

Before the All-Star Classic matchup, the two met twice during the 2023-24 season, splitting the two meetings. Ghadiali’s 8-3 victory over then third-ranked Feldman on Saturday gives Ghadiali a 2-1 advantage in matchups between the two heavyweights. 

Campbell’s next dual is in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as the Camels take on 10^th-ranked Minnesota on Nov. 24.
