Campbell falls on the road at Rider

The Campbell Camels saw their winning streak come to an end with a 22-17 defeat at the hands of Rider, Sunday afternoon at Alumni Gym. The Camels now sit at 8-8 overall, while the Broncs improved to 5-7 with their second consecutive victory.

Bellarmine Wrestling dominates VMI 31-9 on Sunday

The Bellarmine University closed out the first weekend of its homestand in dominating fashion, taking down VMI 31-9 on Sunday afternoon at Knights Hall. The win, the Knights' first in Southern Conference action this season, improves their record to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league play. With the loss, VMI moves to 5-8 on the year, 1-3 in conference duals.

VMI Wrestling falters at Bellarmine

VMI Wrestling had close individual matchups, but could not muster a team victory as the Keydets fell to Bellarmine at Knights Hall on Sunday afternoon. The Keydets (5-8, 1-3 SoCon) had a tough outing against the Knights, 31-9. VMI was on the wrong end of five close decisions, resulting in the third league loss of the season.

Chattanooga Wrestlers Splits Palmetto State Swing

The Mocs took two of the first three matches for the early 6-4 lead. The two squads alternated wins from 149-174 until Kamdyn Munro put the match on tilt with a huge second period pin over Micah DiCarlo. That put the good guys up eight, 18-10, with two matches remaining. No. 22 Patrick Brophy claimed a tech fall over Landon Lewis wrestling up at 197 to close the gap to 18-15. Adam Ortega turned a 3-2 deficit through two periods to a 13-5 major and the match win.

Fueled by a decisive come-from-behind effort from Patrick Brophy (197 lbs) and Adam Ortega (285 lbs) across the final two bouts along with a key early results from Gylon Sims (125 lbs), The Citadel (7-3, 3-1 SoCon) rallied from eight points down late against Southern Conference mainstay Chattanooga (3-8, 2-2 SoCon) en route to a fourth-straight victory, ousting the visiting Mocs via a narrow one-point 19-18 mark Sunday afternoon at McAlister Field House.
