SoCon Announces Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – Davidson sophomore Anderson Heap was named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for matches held between February 11-February 17.

Heap (St. Cloud, FL / Osceola HS) picked up a pair of ranked wins last week, moving his SoCon mark to 7-0 with wins over No. 30 Kaden Keiser (App State) and No. 31 Carson DesRosier (The Citadel). He won each bout in dramatic fashion, handing Keiser his first SoCon loss with a 4-1 (SV-1) decision. He followed with a 5-2 (SV-1) decision over DesRosier for his fourth win over a top-33 opponent this season.

Heap earned a spot himself after those two wins, coming in at No. 29 in this week’s 149-pound FloSports rankings.

Davidson wraps up SoCon action on February 20, hosting Campbell at 7:00 pm on Senior Night.
