SoCon Wrestler of the Week Announced for February 11

SPARTANBURG, SC – Chattanooga senior Mason Reiniche was named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for matches held between February 4-February 10.

Reiniche (Soddy-Daisy, TN / The Baylor School) was sharp in three dominant wins for the Mocs last week, scoring 17 of a possible 18 points in wins over Ryan Vigil (VMI), Talon Maple (Campbell), and Brandon Jacoby (Presbyterian). His fall vs. Maple came in only 48 seconds, which is the quickest of his career. He allowed only two escapes in the three wins and forged a 25-2 edge in less than 13 minutes (12:58) of mat time. He powered Chattanooga to three shutout wins as a team and a 145-0 combined score for the week. The 52-0 win over Presbyterian in Buies Creek matched the program’s highest point total in a SoCon dual in history.

Chattanooga (8-5, 5-1 SoCon) hosts App State (8-5, 5-0 SoCon) in a key dual on February 15. That match begins at 2:00 pm in Maclellan Gym (ESPN+).
