SoCon Announces Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – Gardner-Webb sophomore T.K. Davis was named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for events held between January 21-January 27.

Davis (Rockmart, GA / Rockmart HS) improved to 14-1 overall (2-0 SoCon) with a pair of wins last week, beating Campbell’s Logan Heil by tech fall (22-5) in 4:16 for a league win and taking a 14-3 major decision win over Clarion’s Joseph Fischer. Davis has won 10 matches in a row, including nine straight by either tech fall or major decision. The defending SoCon champion at 133 pounds has recorded bonus points in 11 of his 14 wins so far this season, with seven tech falls. The weekly award was Davis’ third of the 2025-26 season.

Davis moved to No. 15 in the latest national weight class rankings by WrestleStat. The first NCAA Top 33 Coaches’ Rankings will be released on Thursday, January 29.

Gardner-Webb (4-9, 1-1 SoCon) hosts Davidson on Thursday night at 6:00 pm to resume SoCon action.
