SoCon Announces Wrestler of the Week
Chattanooga's Liddie Records Bonus Points in Three Wins
SPARTANBURG, SC – Chattanooga redshirt freshman Cavarius Liddie was named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for competition held between November 19-25.
Liddie (Gainesville, FL / Buchholz HS) rolled to three bonus point wins, including a fall in less than 60 seconds, to rally for a fifth-place finish at the 2025 Black Knight Invitational in West Point, NY. Liddie dropped his opening bout to 16th-ranked and two-time U20 World Champion PJ Duke of Penn State but responded with a flurry. He rolled to a 17-2 tech fall over Army’s Owen O’Conner and followed with a fall in only 55 seconds to top No. 32 Joe Antonio of Army. Liddie advanced to face another Army wrestler in his final match, whipping Kellen Smith by a 17-3 major decision.
The win over Antonio was Chattanooga’s first pin of a ranked wrestler since February 2024.
Chattanooga (3-1) will take a brief break from action until December 12, when it travels to face a tough Utah Valley team and No. 4 Iowa in Hannibal, MO.
