SoCon Announces Women’s Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro senior Kasey McIlvane was named SoCon Women’s Golfer of the Week for tournament played between September 9-15.

McIlvane (Raleigh, NC) tied for medalist honors at the 2026 ECU Pirate Collegiate Classic in Greenville, NC, climbing the leaderboard on the final day. Her efforts also helped the Spartans to a second-place team finish. McIlvane carded a 68 in the third round to make her move, tying NC State’s Marie Madsen for top honors. She shot under par in all three rounds (69-71-68) to finish 8-under par for the tournament (208). McIlvane’s scoring average for all 54 holes beat the tournament average by nearly six strokes per round. She paced the field in Par 4 scoring (3.87) on the 5,974-yard Greenville Country Club course.

UNCG shot the lowest team score of the day in round three to catch and pass host East Carolina for second place. NC State won the team title by nine strikes.

The Spartans will take a break from action until traveling to Spartanburg, SC, for the 2026 Terrier Collegiate on October 12-13.
