Samford’s Engel named SoCon Golfer of the Week
Ties for first in final regular season tournament
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford's Grace Engel has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competitions held April 8–April 14, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Bulldogs competed at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge, where Engel claimed individual medalist honors in the 100-player field, with a 5-under-par 208.
The Huntsville, Alabama, native’s performance included a total of 32 pars and 15 birdies, over the three rounds.
Engel ranks tenth in the SoCon with an average score of 74.1, according to Scoreboard.
Southern Conference teams now look ahead to the 2026 championship to take place April 20-22 in Blythewood, S.C. at the Columbia Country Club.
