Samford's Nicastro named SoCon Golfer of the Week  

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford's Gabi Nicastro has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competitions held March 4–10, the league office announced on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs competed at the Chris Banister Golf Classic on March 8–10.

Nicastro led Samford to a top‑10 finish, posting three rounds of 73 to finish 3‑over par. Her performance included finishing first in the field in par‑4 scoring (-1) and tying for fifth in total birdies (9).

The Huntsville, Alabama, native has earned the league’s weekly honor for the third time this season.

Previously named SoCon Freshman of the Year (2024) and SoCon Golfer of the Year (2025), Nicastro is currently ranked third among SoCon golfers this season, according to Scoreboard by Clippd.

Samford will travel to Monroe, Louisiana, to compete in the ULM Invitational on March 30–31.
