Furman’s Madden named SoCon Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Jenna Madden has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competitions held Feb. 25–March 3, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Paladins competed at the College of Charleston’s Daniel Island Invitational on March 2–3.
Madden led Furman to a top‑five finish, posting rounds of 74, 69, and 73 to finish even par. She opened with a 74 that included a team‑high three birdies, then followed with a 69 featuring five birdies to pace the Paladins in round two. After teeing off on No. 7 in the second round, she birdied her opening hole and added another on No. 13. She turned at 2‑under and closed the day by birdieing three of her final four holes. Madden added consecutive birdies on Nos. 13 and 14 during her final‑round 73. Her performance included a 3‑under total on par 4s and 10 birdies overall, tying her fifth among all players.
A native of McKinney, Texas, Madden is ranked 11th in the SoCon, according to Scoreboard by Clippd.
Furman will travel to Forest Hills on March 14–15 to compete in the Valspar Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Georgia.
