Furman’s Ryu named SoCon Golfer of the Week
Finished eighth out of 101 golfers in the Puerto Rico Classic
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman's Audrey Ryu has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competitions held Jan. 28 – Feb. 3, the league office announced Wednesday.
Ryu, the 2025 Southern Conference Championship medalist, posted a five-under-par 211, finishing eighth in the 101-player field in the Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue, which wrapped play on Monday. The posted score was only five strokes behind the three co-medalists in the event.
A native of Dublin, Ohio, her performance included a team-high four birdies in round one and round two. Ryu also tied for sixth in both par 4 and par 5 scoring during the tournament.
According to Scoreboard by Clippd, Ryu has a 71.5 scoring average, ranking among the top 200 in the nation, at 157.
The Paladins will travel to Jacksonville, Florida, on Feb. 23–24 for the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate.
