SoCon announces women's golfer of the week
Ryu leads Paladins at home invitational
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Audrey Ryu has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition held September 17-23, the league office announced Wednesday.
Ryu, a native of Dublin, Ohio, led the Paladins as they hosted the 51st Annual Lady Paladin Invitational. She finished tied for 11th in a field of 92 with a 3-under-par 213 over three rounds.
Her performance included a final-round 70, where she birdied No. 6 to turn at 1-under. She then added birdies on No. 11 and No. 13 and parred four of her last five holes to finish the tournament at 3-under. Leading the field with 41 pars, the junior helped Furman to a share of third place. This marks seven career Golfer of the Week honors for Ryu.
The Paladins return to action at the Evie Odom Invitational beginning October 16.
