Furman's Ryu named SoCon women's golfer of the week
The Paladin junior receives sixth weekly honor of her career
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman University junior Audrey Ryu has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for the period of September 3–10, as announced by the league office. This marks the first weekly honor of the 2025–26 season.
Ryu delivered a standout performance at the Cougar Classic in Hanahan, South Carolina, climbing four spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for seventh. She posted rounds of 68, 70, and 71, finishing with a four-under-par 209 in her season debut.
A native of Dublin, Ohio, Ryu enters her junior year as the reigning SoCon Women’s Golf individual champion. She concluded last season ranked No. 101 nationally, with a 71.8 scoring average.
Furman’s women’s golf team placed 10th out of 18 teams in the Cougar Classic, their season-opening tournament. The Paladins now turn their attention to hosting the Lady Paladin Invitational, welcoming 15 collegiate teams to the Furman University Golf Club.
