UNCG’s Khalis Cain named SoCon player of the week
Graduate forward registered her third double-double of the season
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG’s Khalis Cain has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 21-27, after logging her third double-double of the season in the Spartans’ lone game this week. This award is selected by the league office.
On Saturday Jan. 25, Cain scored 12 points, secured ten rebounds, had a steal, a block and an assist in a 66-58 victory over Western Carolina. The graduate forward from San Jose, California, shot 60-percent from the field and went 6-for-6 from the free throw line, a season high.
UNCG (13-6, 4-1 SoCon) travels to Mercer on Thursday, Jan. 30, then to Samford on Saturday, Feb. 1.
