Samford’s Annie Ramil named SoCon player of the week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Annie Ramil has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 31 – Jan. 6, after tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ lone game last week. This award is selected by the league office.
In a 94-35 Samford victory over Berry on Saturday, Jan. 4, Ramil secured three offensive and seven defensive rebounds, shot 60-percent from the field, and went 5-of-6 from the free throw line. The Binghamton, New York, native also logged three steals and one assist in the contest.
Samford (5-11) opens conference play on Saturday with a road game against Mercer (5-10).
