Johnson's season-high 26 points lead Samford past Western Carolina in double overtime thriller

Samford defeated Western Carolina on Thursday evening in a dynamic 90-86 double overtime affair. The Bulldogs went into halftime trailing Western Carolina 35-33 but were able to tie things up by the end of regulation. Momentum was on the Bulldogs' side, as they continued to outscore the Catamounts 19-15 in overtime.

Claire Johnson scored 26 points to lead the way for Samford. Johnson was particularly effective from three-point land, knocking down 5-of-13 attempts.

Avyonce Carter recorded 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the way for Western Carolina.


UNC Greensboro wins again, routs Mercer thanks to Smith's big game

UNC Greensboro recorded its third straight win in dominating fashion, handing Mercer a 70-37 loss at Fleming Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Spartans started by building up an 18-point halftime lead and sealed the game by outscoring the Bears 35-20 over the final 20 minutes.

UNC Greensboro's win was spearheaded by a balanced scoring effort with Nya Smith leading with 13 points, while Khalis Cain and Jaila Lee added 10 points each.

Talia Harris scored 13 points, while Ariana Bennett added another 10 to lead the way for Mercer.


Paulk, Wofford take down Chattanooga

Wofford recorded its eighth straight win, handing Chattanooga a 57-54 loss in a back-and-forth contest at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on Thursday evening. The Mocs went into halftime with a two-point lead, but the Terriers would not go down without a fight. The sides exchanged the lead five times over the final 20 minutes, but Wofford ultimately came out on top.

Evangelia Paulk scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the way for Wofford.

Caia Elisaldez scored 21 points, while Sigrun Olafsdottir added another 12 to lead the way for Chattanooga.


Lyons' season-high 23 points lead ETSU past Furman

ETSU defeated SoCon rival Furman by a score of 72-62 on Thursday evening. The Paladins went into halftime with a 28-27 lead, but were unable to hang on, as they were outscored by 11 points in the second half.

Paige Lyons secured their first 20-point scoring game of the season, putting up 23 points to lead ETSU.

Tate Walters recorded 13 points and five rebounds, and Sydney Ryan contributed another 11 points to pace Furman.
