Saturday's Women's Basketball Roundup

UNCG 62, USC Upstate 54

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team claimed a 62-54 victory over USC Upstate on Saturday in Fleming Gym. Makiah Asidanya led both teams with her second-consecutive game recording 18 points, going 3-for-4 from behind-the-arc, 3-for-3 from the charity stripe and 6-for-9 at the field.

Wofford 75, N.C. Central 56

The Wofford women's basketball team hit the road for the first time this season and earned a resounding 75-56 triumph over North Carolina Central Saturday afternoon in McDougald-McLendon Arena. Wofford improves to 2-0 on the young season as NC Central falls to 0-3. Wofford well outshot NC Central, posting a 48.1 percent mark (25-of-52) while holding the Eagles to a 33.3 clip (18-of-54).

FAU 58, Mercer 48

Florida Atlantic scored 20 points off of 25 turnovers and shot better than 45 percent in the opening half to key a 58-48 victory over visiting Mercer on Saturday afternoon in Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The result snapped a four-game series win streak for the Orange & Black (1-1) who will return home on Tuesday to take on Western Kentucky (2-0) in Hawkins Arena

Jackson State 55, ETSU 48

East Tennessee State University women's basketball fell 55-48 to Jackson State on Saturday in Johnson City. Senior guard Braylyn Milton led the Bucs with 14 points. Senior guard Kendall Folley added 11. ETSU led 16-15 after a low scoring first half. The Bucs also maintained a 34-33 lead heading into the final frame, but a six and a half minute drought in between made field goals in the fourth quarter led to a 17-1 Tigers run.
