Chattanooga to face N.C. State in NCAA first round

Mocs are No. 14 seed in Portland 4 Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – The Chattanooga women's basketball team learned its fate in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship during Sunday night's NCAA Selection Show. The 14th-seeded Mocs will face third-seeded N.C. State in the Portland 4 Regional in the first round on March 23rd at 2:30 p.m., in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Mocs (28-4) are coming off their second consecutive Ingles SoCon Women's Basketball Championship as the squad won all three of its games by at least nine points in Asheville, North Carolina. Chattanooga will be making its 17th trip to the Big Dance overall.

Chattanooga heads to Raleigh having won its last five games, beating all but one SoCon opponent twice, with the exception being UNCG who split the regular season. The two met for a third time in the championship game with Chattanooga claiming the tournament title.
 
This season, the Mocs are undefeated in true road games joining South Carolina as the only undefeated road teams. They are currently sixth in the NCAA in scoring defense (54.0 ppg), 14th in three points percentage (37.2), and 25th in free throw percentage (.771)
