Tuesday's Women's Basketball Roundup

Tennessee 101, Samford 53

The Samford women's basketball team opened the 2024-25 season with a 101-53 loss at national power Tennessee Tuesday evening at Thompson-Boling Arena. Samford (0-1) was led in scoring by freshman Claire Johnson, scoring 13 points in her collegiate debut. Emily Bowman posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kennedy Langham also had 12 points, while Annie Ramil added 11 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs.

N.C. State 80, ETSU 55

East Tennessee State University women's basketball fell to NC State 80-55 on Tuesday in Raleigh. Freshman guard Carmen Richardson and senior guard Braylyn Milton each scored 12 for ETSU. Junior forward Meghan Downing and sophomore guard Brecken Snotherly each grabbed five rebounds. The Bucs came out to play in the first half against the Wolfpack. Milton and senior guard Kendall Folley each scored seven in the opening half.
