Wofford’s Evangelia Paulk named SoCon player of the week
Sophomore forward led league on scoring and rebounding average this week.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Evangelia Paulk has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 7-13, after tallying 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Terriers’ conference opener last week. This award is selected by the league office.
Paulk led the Terriers to a 68-51 victory against Furman on Sunday to open conference play. The Asheville, North Carolina, native logged her second double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and securing 11 rebounds. The sophomore forward/guard went 3-for-5 behind the arc and 6-of-9 from the field. She added in a block, an assists and two steals which lifted her to a season total of 50, making her one of 15 players in the NCAA with at least 50 steals this season.
Wofford (9-5, 1-0 SoCon) hosts UNCG (11-5, 2-0 SoCon) on Thursday before welcoming Western Carolina (11-6, 1-1 SoCon) on Saturday
