UNCG's Asidanya named SoCon Player of the Week
Received the honor in the opening and closing week of regular season competition
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG’s Makiah Asidanya has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by Ingles for games played on Feb. 24-March 2.
The junior guard matched her career-high of five three-pointers in one game to help lead the Spartans to a win against Western Carolina.
A native of Pittsburg, California, Asidanya scored 21 points in the win and added three rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the performance.
Asidanya ranks second on her team in points per game (11.1) and third in rebounds (3.8). She also received the league’s weekly honor during opening week.
