Chattanooga’s Corbitt named SoCon Player of the Week
Forward is second in the league in field goal percentage
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga's Gianna Corbitt has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by Ingles for games played on Feb. 10-16.
The sophomore forward posted her sixth double-double of the season against ETSU on Feb. 14, scoring 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Her performance also included three steals and two blocks, and a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the charity stripe.
A native of Oakland Park, Florida, Corbitt leads her team in rebounds (8.2), steals (2.0), blocks (0.7), field goal percentage (50.6), and three-point percentage (43.2). Corbitt ranks among the top 60 nationally in field goal percentage.
Corbitt has received the league’s weekly honor on four occasions this season.
