Furman's Coyle named SoCon Player of the Week
Forward records her eighth double-double of the season
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman's Clare Coyle has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by Ingles for games played on Jan. 27 – Feb. 2.
On Jan. 30, the sophomore forward led the Paladins to a 65-64 win over Wofford, moving Furman into second place in the league.
She scored17 points on 66.7 percent shooting from the field, while also grabbing 11 rebounds in the contest, logging her eighth double-double of the season (tied for 33rd in the nation).
The native of Jacksonville, Florida, added two assists and two blocks to the performance.
Coyle ranks first in the SoCon in rebounds at 9.3 per game, and second in steals at 2.1 per game.
