Wofford's Mundy named women's basketball player of the week

Guard sets a new career high in points

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Gabby Mundy has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by Ingles for games played on Jan. 20–26.

The freshman guard led the Terriers to a pair of conference road wins over Mercer and Samford.

Mundy averaged 23 points and shot 46.7 percent from beyond the arc across the two games, including a career‑high 28 points against Mercer on Jan. 24. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds over the two contests.

The native of Liberty Hill, Texas, moved into fourth in the conference in scoring, averaging 14.1 points on 41.1 percent shooting for the season.

A finance major at Wofford, Mundy also ranks third in the SoCon in assists at 4.2 per game.

She is the first freshman in Wofford program history to score in double figures in the first six games of conference play, a stretch that has her leading the league in scoring during conference games at 19.3 points per game.

The Terriers will host the Furman Paladins on Jan. 30.
