Samford's Yarbrough named women's basketball player of the week
Freshman guard scores career high
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Kaylee Yarbrough has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 9-15.
Yarbrough scored a career-high 29 points in the Bulldogs’ win over USC Upstate on Dec. 14. The freshman guard shot 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from the field, including five three-pointers.
The New Hope, Alabama, native now leads her team in points per game (12.5) and three-point percentage (37.7). Yarbrough’s 37.7 three-point percentage currently leads the SoCon.
Samford will face off against the Lipscomb Bisons at home on Dec. 18.
