Wofford's Ikhiuwu named SoCon Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Terriers' forward currently leads the league in field goal percentage through 4 games
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Queen Ikhiuwu has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played November 11–17. Ikhiuwu averaged 17 points per game on an efficient 69.6% shooting from the field. The award is selected by the league office.
The junior forward also pulled down an average of 8 rebounds per contest and was perfect at the charity stripe.
Ikhiuwu’s standout performance included an 18-point, 10-rebound outing where she shot 9-of-13 from the floor, keeping Wofford in contention against Georgia State. She followed that with another double-digit scoring effort against App State, finishing 7-of-10 from the field.
The Madrid, Spain native has scored in double figures in every game this season, ranking third in the conference in scoring per game and first in field goal percentage. Ikhiuwu also stands second in rebounds per game at 7.5.
Wofford returns to the court in the Queen City when they visit the Charlotte 49ers on November 22.
