The Mocs claimed a 3-1 win in the opening game before falling 6-1 in the second. Olivia Lipari led UTC at the plate at 3-for-6 (.500) with a triple and scored two runs while Baileigh Pitts drove in two runs on the day.

WOF - Wofford's softball team (28-17, 9-5 SoCon) split the first two games of a three-game series against Chattanooga (32-12,9-4 SoCon) on Friday, April 18 at Hope Field. Wofford lost a nailbiter in game one as the Terrier bats fell short in a 3-1 loss. In game two, the Wofford offense came alive to go along with a Margaret Axelson gem to win 6-1.

Mercer 4, Western Carolina 2

MER - Home-standing Mercer rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to fuel a 4-2 win in Friday's opener, and then pushed across a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to finish off a series-opening doubleheader sweep of Western Carolina with a 3-2 triumph in the nightcap.

WCU - Friday's Southern Conference softball doubleheader featured tight action throughout as Western Carolina dropped both ends against Mercer as the Bears rallied late in a 4-2 win in the opener before grabbing a 3-2 victory in nine innings to win the day at Sikes Field.

Samford 5, Furman 1

Samford 6, Furman 5

SAM - The Samford softball team returned to action today after nearly a week away from play as they hosted Furman for two games today in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs controlled game one wire-to-wire 5-1 before completing a five-run rally in the seventh inning of game two to win 6-5. The Bulldogs move to 30-17 on the season overall and now sit at 11-3 in SoCon play, back in first place alone.
