ETSU’s Badra named SoCon Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the third time this season, ETSU’s Dimitri Badra has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for all competition from April 9 – April 15. The selection is made by the league office.

The senior from Maracay, Venezeula improved to 7-0 in SoCon singles’ matches with a 6-3, 6-4 win over The Citadel's Hayden Shoemake last Wednesday (April 10). The victory clinched the match, as well as the SoCon Regular Season Championship for the Bucs. Dating back to last season, Badra has now won 10 consecutive singles matches against SoCon opponents.  

ETSU finished the regular season with a 10-9 overall record and a 7-0 league mark. The top-seeded Bucs will square off with No. 8 seed UNCG (6-15, 0-7 SoCon) in the first round of the SoCon tournament on Thursday (April 18) at 1 p.m.
