Samford’s Santiago Arredondo named SoCon player of the week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Santiago Arredondo has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for all competition from March 3-9. The selection is made by the league office.

Arrendondo went 3-0 last week as Samford grabbed a pair of conference road wins. In a 5-2 victory over UNCG on March 7, the senior from Mexico, picked up a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win in singles. Two days later, Arrendondo won 6-3, 6-1, in singles and alongside teammate Parker Free won, 7-6, in doubles as the Bulldogs topped The Citadel 4-3.

Samford plays its next match against Lipscomb on March 18.
